Asus Zenfone 7 is a flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese electronics company Asus, and the successor to the Asus Zenfone 6. The Zenfone 7 was launched in August 2020 and has received positive reviews for its improved camera capabilities, performance and design.

Design and Display:

The Asus Zenfone 7 retains the flip camera mechanism of its predecessor, but with some improvements. The flip camera module now consists of a triple camera setup, including a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. The camera module can rotate 180 degrees and can be controlled using the phone’s software or a physical button. The phone has a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate. The display is bright, vibrant and has excellent viewing angles.

Performance:

The Asus Zenfone 7 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset, which was the latest and most powerful processor at the time of launch. The Snapdragon 865+ is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone also supports expandable storage up to 2TB via a microSD card. The Zenfone 7 has excellent performance and can handle heavy multitasking, gaming and other intensive tasks with ease.

Battery:

The Asus Zenfone 7 has a 5,000mAh battery, which is the same capacity as its predecessor. The phone also supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging and can charge from 0% to 60% in just 34 minutes. The battery life of the Zenfone 7 is excellent and can easily last a full day of heavy usage.

Camera:

The Asus Zenfone 7’s flip camera module is its standout feature. The camera module consists of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. The camera supports features like Night mode, Pro mode, Slow motion, Time-lapse and 8K video recording. The camera takes excellent photos with good detail, color accuracy and dynamic range. The flip camera mechanism is also great for taking selfies and group photos.

Software:

The Asus Zenfone 7 runs on Android 10 out of the box, but has since been updated to Android 11. The phone runs on Asus’s custom ZenUI 7 skin, which has a near-stock Android feel with some added features and customizations. The software is clean, bloat-free and has no ads or unnecessary pre-installed apps. The Zenfone 7 also supports features like Zenmoji and Game Genie, which allows users to customize their gaming experience.

Conclusion:

The Asus Zenfone 7 is an excellent flagship smartphone that improves upon its predecessor in many ways. The phone’s flip camera mechanism is a great example of innovation and provides a unique user experience. The Zenfone 7 also has excellent performance, battery life and camera capabilities. The only downside to the phone is its relatively heavy weight due to the large battery and motorized flip camera mechanism. Overall, the Asus Zenfone 7 is a great flagship smartphone that’s worth considering if you’re in the market for a new device.
